Story Overview:
The chapter i have just read (black and white) The author discusses the racial tension in Permain high school. despite the fact that the whites blacks and hispanics (the area that the story takes place is Odessa Texas) all live in lower class.
Friday Night lights does not just revolve around one main character, but a series of characters and discusses the mental and physical changes the endure through out the grueling 1988 football season, which the main goal for the small town of Odessa and the Permain Panthers is to reach and win the state title. All of the players are under extreme pressure, from their friends, family, peers and mentors, as Odessa lives and breathes football. high expectations are made for the students at Permain because most of the towns elder citizens are Permain Panther State champions, who all hold state rings and are not bashfull about showing them off. Its no doubt that each player on the 1988 team will go through major life changes as they claw and fight their way to the state championship which is not coming as easy as they thought it would.

Story Overview:
The chapter I've just read was called civil war, It discusses the deep rivalry between midland lee and the per main panthers. Midland lee is a mostly black community, with a 90% black team. but they live higher class than odessa which has much more whites than other minorities. Permian will have to play Midland in the state championship and the midland players are much faster, stronger and much larger than the players apart of the per main panther team. This is the toughest challange the panthers have faced all year, and with the loss of their star running back boobie miles, quarterback mike winchell. who's football career has skyrocketed since boobies absence, will have to cary the team on his back to the state title.
